350 - the magic number

While doing the usual trawl through my wonderful morning RSS feeds, I came across this awesome animation from http://www.350.org on climate change which I thought you might like.

So what is ‘350’ all about? Well, it’s the number that leading scientists say is the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide, measured in "Parts Per Million", in our atmosphere. 350 PPM - it’s the number humanity needs to get back to as soon as possible to avoid runaway climate change.

For more information see: http://www.350.org

Oh, and don’t forget to invite the next US president to attend the UN climate change meetings too! :)

Hey there Mr. Simon,

I thought you'd enjoy this video of Jon Warnow talking about his work on the "Step it up" campaign, and now on the 350.org campaign. He was in Toronto earlier this year to share his experience with other campaigners, NGOs, and activists as part of the first-ever "Social Tech Training."

Phillip.

Awesome campaign
Great post - I think the 350.org campaign is excellent and I've blogged about it on the Australian Climate Movement blog, here.
